Global Hegemony Mission
The Global Hegemony Research Team at the Global AI Security Center (GAIS) is dedicated to analyzing, measuring, and understanding shifts in international power dynamics, specifically among the members of the Group of Twenty (G20). Our multidisciplinary team comprises leading researchers and experts from the United States, the European Union, China, Russia, Japan, India, and other key global stakeholders, reflecting a diverse and comprehensive array of perspectives.
Central to our research is the annual Global Hegemony Index, a robust analytical framework designed to systematically assess and compare the national power of G20 countries. This innovative index includes over 30 meticulously selected indicators that span critical dimensions such as military strength, economic capability, technological innovation, financial influence, demographic trends, cultural impact, and various other forms of soft power.
The Global Hegemony Index serves not only as an invaluable resource for understanding contemporary global dynamics but also as a predictive tool for anticipating future shifts driven by technological advancements, particularly artificial intelligence. Recognizing that AI will significantly influence future geopolitical landscapes, our research integrates traditional power metrics with emerging factors related to AI readiness and technological progress.
By combining rigorous quantitative methodologies with insightful qualitative analyses, the Global Hegemony Research Team aims to provide policymakers, academic scholars, and international organizations with essential insights for strategic decision-making, conflict resolution, and fostering international collaboration. Our research actively contributes to global peace, security, and prosperity by identifying both current and emerging power structures and dynamics.
As we continue our exploration of global hegemony, our team remains committed to producing impartial, detailed, and forward-looking analyses, ensuring stakeholders are well-informed to navigate and shape the complex landscape of international relations in the era of AI-driven transformations.
